About

We (Kyle and Kari) lived in South Minneapolis for eight years after college - after adding to the family with little boy Anders, it was decided to move somewhere so we could get back to nature and away from the busy-ness of city life. And back to nature we did go! We went from serious urban living to extreme remoteness in northern Minnesota.

An opportunity landed at our feet where we could live on and help take care of a small resort on the clearest lake in Minnesota (Caribou Lake). It's an old hunting camp from WWII era that has been added to over the years with three beautiful log homes; mix of old and new. We're now living in the old 'lodge', a place virtually unoccupied for 15 years.

  1. Have you seen bear, dear, wolves and other assorted critters? Pretty sterile when I was there last July.

  2. Lots of deer and bald eagles - heard some wolves but no bear sightings yet! I just told Kyle I want to start carrying some bear spray when Anders and I go walking/hiking as it sounds like a lot of people have seen them out and about this fall.
